Its been a long time...

So its been a good six months since updating the blog. Chaos has erupted and we're finally getting to a more relaxed pace. So I guess it would be best to rewind and give a quick update on what's happened.

First, we have baby number three on the way. It was a MAJOR surprise and coincidentally enough the due date is my mom's birthday May 28th. I think it would be awesome for this baby to share a birthday with such an amazing and special person. I'll give you some pictures of this new little person, I don't know if its a boy or girl I wanted a surprise. Don't try peeking at the ultrasounds there is nothing that will give it away, I promise! Matt and I are throwing some names around but haven't been able to settle on any as of yet.

This pregnancy has been a tough one. Considering I'm 25 weeks today and have been sick since before I found out its definitely taken its toll on me. Thankfully its beginning to taper off although I think I'm destined to be sick for the long haul. I get a lot of the questions about "What do you think this baby is..." and based on the previous two I can say with some authority that I have zero idea whether its a boy or girl but I can say that I'm sure this is a Knouse baby. I'm sick like I was with Brayden and this baby is very active just like he was. And according to the sonograms this baby is very stubborn and has huge feet, if that isn't me I don't know what is!

I'm still watching Ethan everyday but it will only be up until about the second week in March. He' been such a joy and to see how the boys all interact together has been completely entertaining. I'm sure going from a 4 year old and two 2 year olds to a 5 year old, 3 year old and infant will be a breeze in comparison! I'm sure those words will come back to haunt me but hopefully not.

Brayden is continuing to do great in school and looks forward to going and learning more each day. I don't know what I'm going to do with him all summer when he has next to nothing to do! He finished up his soccer season. He was starting to get the hang of it by the end but I still think he'll be my academic/performer when he gets older. He'll be starting t-ball next month and he's absolutely thrilled about it. He can't wait to go glove shopping with daddy, hopefully it will go well considering he's a lefty.

Landon is getting so big and his vocabulary is just exploding with each passing day. Everyday with him is such an adventure. He's constantly getting into something sometimes good but most times its bound to be a disaster. Unfortunately for him big brother is a master manipulator and it doesn't take much convincing to get him into trouble, its quite the dangerous combination.

My newest venture has been cloth diapering. I've decided that with this new baby and also with Landon I'll be switching from disposable diapers to cloth diapers. I've completely transitioned Landon over and he loves them. I'm only using a few disposables a week for church. Now before you start thinking that I've turned into some crunchy, organic tree hugger let me set your mind at ease. I'm not. I don't consider myself green, its a lot of work, but I do see the benefits of using cloth diapers. Financially is the first reason, once you shell out the initial "start up" cost of the diapers you're pretty well set until your child is potty trained. Secondly, my kids always have skin issues anywhere from sensitive skin, rashes, eczema or allergies. There are so many chemicals used in disposables that can irritate all the issues we suffer with. Just on Sunday I noticed when Landon was in a disposable all morning because of church his poor diaper area was bright red, after a few hours in cloth, without cream or powder of any kind, he was completely clear again. That speaks volumes to me. And lastly it takes a disposable diaper 500 years to break down, the organic diapers take 150 years! Again, I'm not a huge green person but if I can at least help with not contributing to 500 years of stink to the world then I will. I'll take some pictures of Landon in his cloth, he loves to do a little dance in them and pick out which one he wants to wear next. They've definitely come a long way since the pins and plastic pants!

That's it for this condensed update. I'm pretty tired and ready to read myself to sleep. I'll be back update more often. I'm excited to go on a ski trip this weekend so hopefully I'll have some fun snow pictures by this time next week.
