PSF ~Good Clean Fun~

After peeing in the bed, not while sleeping just decided to do it, I figured the safest place for Landon to play would be in the bath tub while I organized his room. I hear giggling and talking so I decided to go and check. Experience tells me this could only be a bad thing....

He found his reflection in the faucet and was making faces at himself.

The Face

He realized he was caught being silly.

Just a tad of embarassement.

Before I could even make lunch for him he was passed out on the couch. At least if he pees here its only on the towel. I did cover him up but after the picture.
Oh the fun we have while Brayden is at school all day.
What a sweet, naked, boy.

Kindergarten

Brayden started school this week. Yes, my "baby" is now in kindergarten. I'm torn between crying and shouting out in joy. He has been so excited to start ever since VPK let out in June. He's now attending Denham Oaks Elementary School and is part of the Blazing Dragons team. He has two teachers, one is about to have a baby and start maternity leave and so he's with the substitute until January. He's loved every minute of it so far and even conveniently forgot his lunch box one day so he could buy his lunch the next day. We've been practicing everyday how to get to his classroom so hopefully next week he can walk by himself from the drop off/pick up area. He's a little nervous to try it alone but I'm sure he can do it. *gulp* The best part, for me, of him being in school all day is that I'm getting a chance to miss him. I get very excited come 3 o'clock when its time to start getting the little boys ready to pick him up. Brayden always has a huge grin on his face when he sees its his turn to go home. Hearing the stories of his day and all the excitement, it never gets old.
Posing with his new gear.

He's picked his new 'do for school. He LOVES his mohawk.

Sitting at his desk. He picked the one that faces the board and teacher so he could see better. I like it so the teacher can tell when he's talking and not working.

3 Months Old

I can't believe its already been 3 months since this little man entered my life. He's growing so fast and quickly gaining his own little personality. He's tying desperately to reject the bottle thankfully I'm hip to that game and I'm much more strong willed than he is you may be cute but you don't stand a chance. He's sleeping very well at night and napping like a champ. I'm hoping this will continue, forever, and that he will always be good to his mama. Fat chance I'm sure but here's to hoping. He's not a big fan of the bumbo yet since he doesn't have complete head and neck control but we're practicing to gain more muscle strength. We're nowhere close to starting solids yet, I don't see a reason to since he's gaining weight perfectly plus breastmilk poops are much easier to clean out of the diapers. I'm not sure how big he is now but this time last month he was 11 pounds and 2 ounces and 23 and 1/2 inches long (just imagine bigger now). He trying very hard to roll himself over, he can occasionally make it from tummy to back but he's not consistant with it yet and its usually because he's mad I haven't picked him up yet...whoops.
He's finally starting to enjoy tummy time

I'm thinking he has a future career in the circus or Seaworld, just picture him balancing a ball on the end of his nose.
(not a great angle, his head looks huge and oddly shaped)

And of course the extremely proud brothers.

Reason #286 to Stop Breastfeeding

The day started off perfect. My kids were happy and playing mostly great together. Of course that dreaded part of the day when everyone wants to eat at the same time rolls around. No problem, Kylan can fuss a couple minutes and then I can quickly set the big kids up with lunch. To make it even easier I decided to go the leftovers route. Everyone is seated with food, drinks napkins and anything else that may be needed. Time to give Kylan his much desired attention and food. Only about 15 minutes pass and I hear the uncontrollable giggling coming from the kitchen...I begin to beg Kylan to rush up his nursing session so I can asess the damages.

This is what I was left with. If you can't tell right off the bat what it is, its RICE! Hundreds of grains of rice covering my kitchen. It was a real treat cleaning all that up. Just to ease your mind, I don't just feed my children rice at meal times. I don't run a prison camp here although they may tell you otherwise. They ate all the meat and veggies and left the rice. I don't blame them really but I could've done without it covering my entire kitchen.

Presents

I'm beginning to understand where Matt gets his "buy a present to fix problems" mentality. I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth but if you never acknowledge an issue and resolve it how can things ever change? I'm to the point where I can't make Matt understand and have chalked it up to a male brain block of some sort. Unfortunately I've found the source of this ongoing problem.

For as long as I can remember I've been the "black sheep Baptist" as far as my MIL was concerned. I don't go to her church and I stand up for my faith so that somehow translates into me being bad person who's headed straight to hell, thank God I know better than that. I've forever gotten snide remarks and hate mail sent to Matt from the MIL, she abrasive and cold but she loves her grandchildren so I've always overlooked it. I won't go into specifics for why the MIL gets under my skin other than her trying to play mom and questioning my parenting and discipline choices when I'm RIGHT THERE and then I have to pull out the wench card and actually BE the mom. Instead of recognizing that you're out of line and apologizing I get a surprise visit with gifts for all the boys. Two new Nintendo DS games for Brayden, an annoying singing truck thing for Landon, and the Baby Neptune Play mat for Kylan!! She easily spent over $100, like I said I'm not going to refuse presents for my kids, especially not a kick butt activity mat that I love, but a simple "Sorry" would have been fine too.

Hello, Matt? I'm still waiting for you to take ownership of your choices and make them right. I do enjoy an awesome sushi dinner and laughing at the people while we go redneck bowling but I'd prefer a quiet night of talking...and maybe some take home sushi.

Just for Fun...Same Shirt

8+ months Pregnant

11 Weeks Post Baby

Just to clarify, this is NOT a maternity shirt I was just rocking it out at the end of the pregnancy with a tanktop so I didn't show off the dreaded "under belly".

Potty Training

I can easily say that I dislike potty training with an immense passion. I thought I hated it with Brayden but he trained (day and night) within three days well before his 3rd birthday. Landon, my sweet little boy who marches to the beat of his own drum, was an entirely different story. First sign he was ready was of course right before Kylan arrived...I was NOT ready to potty train while 8-9 months pregnant but gave it a go anyway since it would be nice to only have one set of diapers to change, didn't happen. We tried right after Kylan was born because he kept hopping on the toilet ready to go, unsuccessful again. I finally resigned myself to the fact that Landon was destined to wear depends through his high school and college days because I had officially hung up my potty training hat. In a last stitch effort I bought a package of pull-ups (I know paper panties...YUCK!) from Walmart for $7 to see if the disappearing dragons would do the trick. We are officially on our second pull-up and it still has yet to see the slightest drop of pee or poo. I'm SO excited for him! Landon is so proud to put his big boy "wonderwear" on after he wakes up dry from sleeping, he even woke me up in the middle of the night to inform me that he needed to go potty. While waking in the middle of the night is not ideal especially considering the baby doesn't even wake up anymore I'll take so long as I don't have to clean up toddler turds out of diapers anymore! The only downside is that now I must get rid of all his cloth diapers. Its very bittersweet but on the other hand I can use that money to buy more cute fluff for Kylan!! YAY!! If you're interested in beefing up your diaper stash just let me know, I've got a lot of great stuff for medium/large sizes! I'm only keeping two faves for Kylan.

Birthdays

Brayden and Landon both had birthdays recently...some more recent than others (sorry B). I can't believe how fast the time is passing. My "babies" have turned 5 and 3!! How did this happen? Wasn't it just yesterday that I was bringing them home from the hospital? And to think that one of these days it'll be Kylan who's getting so big...it makes my heartache to see them growing up although I can't wait for the next stages.

Brayden's birthday was shared (at Easter time *blush*) with Presley and Tyce. We all had a blast and B was so excited to spend time with the whole family...oh and he liked the Star Wars toys too. Landon shared his birthday with McKenna and we all had a blast at the pool. Its so great to just have family parties and relax in the water and sun. Not that 8 kids isn't a party all in itself, I couldn't imagine trying to throw one even bigger for family AND friends! Sorry friends and other side of the family we just went the simple route this year.

Mini-Rant...excuse the vent

I wish I could get inside a man's head for just ONE day. Not just any man's head of course but my darling husband. I would settle for a small glimpse at this point. What makes it so hard for you to pay a compliment?!?! In my mind if you make it a point to tell me that you want me to take more pride in my appearance, which is another issue altogether, then you should at the very least take notice of my appearance and paying me a stinking compliment. I'm not asking to be showered with unnecessary flattery just for an ego boost but a simple "you look pretty" would suffice. FYI: If I make it a point to look nice then the first thing out of your mouth should never be "Your shoes make me feel short." And when you're trying to get back into my good graces don't act like I'm a sure thing and that a chase isn't in order...mistakes were made and trust is gone the road to recovery will be long and difficult. Cancer can't be cured with a band aid and our marriage is not any different.

P.S. I'm not impressed that you're getting a vasectomy, that's not foreplay and it will not get you anywhere near my bed. Okay?
