Unintentional Broken Promises...

I know I made a promise to keep my blogging up to date atleast weekly but this time it was NOT my fault.  The 'husband' was surfing for porn, when he should have been watching the kids, and got a nasty virus on my computer.  Can I tell you how excited I was to see naked women doing God only knows what the next morning?  YUCK!!!  So that is the reasoning behind my loooong absense, I finally got around to removing the STD and while I was using my phone for everything internet related I couldn't bring myself to use it to blog...I'm certain my eyes would've gone crossed.

A brief rundown on what you've missed.  McCreepy is no longer a problem, he's still creepy and I have to see him but atleast I don't have to talk to him and I've got a few people running interference for me.  Brayden's birthday is just around the corner and I have yet to plan anything but that's no surprise since I forget even my own birthday.  He's started t-ball this past weekend and in his words he's "awesome" and who am I to discourage that?  Landon is still my quirky Landon.  I don't even have to words for him, he's been making me laugh more than I can possibly imagine.  I'm working on getting him into his VPK program for the fall but I keep forgetting whoops.  I've decided to hold him back for kindergarten for now although I haven't talked to the husband about it yet so he may disagree but I don't think he will.  He's much more immature than Brayden was at this age and since he's got a late July birthday I believe he'd do much better as the older kid in school.  I'm sure it'll give him an edge when it comes to sports and academics not to mention I have tiny children and an extra year of growing couldn't hurt!  Now my little Kylan, he's probably the laziest baby I've ever seen but thankfully he's got such a sweet disposition that I don't even care.  He is doing his own version of crawling that I can best describe as an inch worm.  He never has eaten baby food but I can't blame him because its gross.  He's loving ALL table food.  I haven't found a meal that he hasn't enjoyed from BBQ to house salads he loves it all.  He's saying "DaDa", "MaMa" and "NighNigh" when he's sleepy.  I'm almost certain he's saying "Hey" instead of Hi but I need to pay better attention to be sure.

So mix in a few colds and stomach bugs and that's been our lives for the last few months.  M and I are working through the legal things now so hopefully everything will be overwith soon.  And I'll try to get some new pictures up but I need to find my camera chager first, I know as soon as I buy another it'll show up and I refuse to give Canon the satisfaction.  Oh, and I have purple hair now...in places.

That is all.

Kindergarten

Brayden started school this week. Yes, my "baby" is now in kindergarten. I'm torn between crying and shouting out in joy. He has been so excited to start ever since VPK let out in June. He's now attending Denham Oaks Elementary School and is part of the Blazing Dragons team. He has two teachers, one is about to have a baby and start maternity leave and so he's with the substitute until January. He's loved every minute of it so far and even conveniently forgot his lunch box one day so he could buy his lunch the next day. We've been practicing everyday how to get to his classroom so hopefully next week he can walk by himself from the drop off/pick up area. He's a little nervous to try it alone but I'm sure he can do it. *gulp* The best part, for me, of him being in school all day is that I'm getting a chance to miss him. I get very excited come 3 o'clock when its time to start getting the little boys ready to pick him up. Brayden always has a huge grin on his face when he sees its his turn to go home. Hearing the stories of his day and all the excitement, it never gets old.
Posing with his new gear.

He's picked his new 'do for school. He LOVES his mohawk.

Sitting at his desk. He picked the one that faces the board and teacher so he could see better. I like it so the teacher can tell when he's talking and not working.

Getting to the truth

So I pick Brayden up from school and we have the usual conversation. "How was school?" "Good." "What did you learn?" "I don't know." etc. Well Brayden informs me that he doesn't like his teacher. I thought I was playing 20 questions getting to the root of the problem. Here's how the talk went.

M- Why don't you like your teacher?
B- I don't know.
M- Isn't she nice?
B- Yeah, she's nice...but I don't like her.
M- Isn't she pretty?
B- Yep she's pretty, but I don't like her.
M- Isn't she fun?
B- Yeah she's fun...but I still don't like her.
B- Miss Dianna is mean!
M- Why is Miss Dianna mean? What happened?
B- She put me in timeout.

(finally the truth starts to come out...)

M- Well, why did you go to time out?
B- Because I made a mess.
M- Why did you make a mess? Mess with what?
B- I made a mess playing with the toys.
M- Well why did you get a time out for playing with the toys?
B- Well (long pause) because is wasn't play time. :(
B- But I wasn't by myself in time out, Landon was with me....but we weren't allowed to talk.

(I'm trying not to crack up at this point)

M- So what did you learn from this then?
B- Obey the first time, and only play at play time.

Oh my, oh my. If this is how everyday is going to be just shoot me now. Atleast he's been lining up with his class and walking in with no problems for the last two days so that is a great improvement.

School Days

Well here I am trying my hand at this whole blogging thing, not that I ever said I wouldn't just giving it a go now.

Sooo. Brayden started school this week. I've been dreading it for months now but to my surprise I wasn't too sad to see him go. Monday morning went off without a hitch. He couldn't stop smiling and wanted to take pictures of him with everything school related. He had to pose with his breakfast, bag of school supplies, backpack, and last but certainly not least...his rubber snakes. All this before we even left for the drive to school!!

The drive to school was the hardest for me. I had to restrain myself at every median and stop light to not turn around and take him back home with me. He strolled into the school like he owned the place. He was so proud of himself. He just had to have his picture taken with Landon against the wall like the big kids were doing. Brayden walked into class with no problem at all. He was excited to start his day and go through all the different centers.

This is Brayden's new friend Seth here in the background...I think he was having an "emo" morning.

He was very excited to be picked up. He immediately ran up and gave me a giant bear hug and told me how great his first day was. Then he and Landon started looking for alligators in the sewer grate. (this has also become an everyday occurrence)

Now fast forward to the end of the week and he's completely over going to school. He tells me that he doesn't want to go to school anymore and now he's the biggest manipulative staller when it comes to drop off time. Completely driving me insane!! I figured this would happen but I'd hoped that the novelty of school would last at least a couple of weeks. Well, tomorrow is the end of week one and a little birdie told me about a treasure chest with chocolate in it....so needless to say he's psyched to have the treat tomorrow, and of course Matt has a special lunch planned for him also.
